In this week’s blog we are going to focus on tattoo styles and art! Trash Polka tattoos are popular and have a wide range of styles and designs, and originated in Germany.
What is Trash Polka?
Trash Polka is a tattoo art style pioneered by Simone Pfaff and Volker Merschky in Germany. This style combines naturalistic, photorealistic and surrealistic art styles, blending with graphic, lettering and calligraphic elements usually in black and red. Abstract designs and realistic motifs are key elements of the tattoo style. It is common for lettering to be included in tattoos with distinctive varieties of fonts. The majority of original Trash Polka tattoos are done as large-scale pieces in order to suit the motifs and elements.
